Popularize the grinding process of furniture and watch it!
Popularize the furniture polishing process and watch it quickly~ The three main functions of furniture polishing:
1. For the substrate, it is to remove burrs, oil, dust, etc. on the surface of the substrate;
2. For the surface that has been puttyed, the surface is generally rough and needs to be polished with sandpaper to obtain a smoother surface. Therefore, polishing can reduce the roughness of the surface of the workpiece;
3. Enhance the adhesion of the coating. Before spraying a new paint film, it is generally necessary to polish the old paint film layer after it is actually dried. Because the paint has poor adhesion on an overly smooth surface, polishing can enhance the mechanical adhesion of the coating.
There are three methods of polishing: dry polishing, wet polishing and mechanical polishing.
1. Dry polishing: polishing with sandpaper. It is suitable for polishing hard and brittle paints. Its disadvantage is that a lot of dust will be generated during the operation, affecting environmental hygiene.
2. Wet polishing: polishing with water sandpaper or soapy water. Water polishing can reduce wear marks, improve the smoothness of the coating, and save sandpaper and labor. However, after water grinding, you should pay attention to spraying the lower layer of paint. First, you must wait until the water grinding layer is completely dry before applying the lower layer of paint, otherwise the paint layer will easily turn white. In addition, the substrate with strong water absorption is not suitable for water grinding.
3. Mechanical grinding: When constructing a large area, in order to improve work efficiency, mechanical grinding methods can be used, such as electric grinders (disc type, vibration type). There is another type of grinding: the coating requirements indicate "light grinding", such as sealing paint, re-coating of old paint film, local repair, etc. At this time, you should use finer sandpaper and experienced hands to do it, and really "light grinding". Otherwise, it will be counterproductive.
When sanding, the sanding materials should be selected strictly according to the process requirements. Generally, the sandpaper can be selected according to the following rules: When sanding solid wood blanks, 180# and 240# sandpapers should be used. When sanding plywood or a primer, 220# and 240# sandpapers should be used. For sanding the flat primer, 320# and 400# sandpapers should be used. For sanding the last primer or topcoat, 600# and 800# sandpapers should be used. For polishing the topcoat, 1500# and 2000# sandpapers should be used.
Precautions for sanding: When sandpaper is used for manual sanding, the whole sandpaper is generally cut into four pieces. After each piece is folded in half, the two ends are clamped with the thumb and little finger. In addition, three fingers are flattened and pressed on the sandpaper to sand back and forth on the surface of the object. According to the sanding object, change at any time, and use the holes in the fingers and the extension of the fingers to flexibly sand in the concave and convex areas and corners.
When sanding a large area, you need to master the principle of "high is the standard". Use your palm to turn the sandpaper. You can also use a slightly harder rubber such as sponge or cork block. Use your thumb and index finger to pinch the left and right end surfaces tightly and sand flat. The nails of sanders should be of appropriate length to avoid hurting their fingers during operation.
These are all professional operations. Only trained professionals who choose high-quality sandpaper such as Golden Sun sandpaper can ensure the final quality of the product!
